From Singapore, travelling to Indonesia was so easy. A short ferry ride of about 45–60 minutes, and we’d be in another country.
In the first weekend of May 2019, we decided to go to Bintan, Indonesia. We had booked our stay at the beautiful Angsana Resort.
The ferry ride was smooth, and both my kids loved every bit of it. Once we reached and checked in, we found that we were upgraded to a huge family suite with a stunning view of the South China Sea. It was breathtaking. Adi was thrilled! He ran from room to room, exploring, dancing, giggling… so full of life. Watching him that happy filled our hearts.
Later that day, we went to the beach. The turquoise waters and soft sand were too tempting. We played in the sea for a long time. Adi and Mugddha had a blast. When it got cooler and closer to sunset, we decided to head back, but the kids didn’t want to leave!
Back at the resort, after a warm bath and early dinner, both kids were so tired they fell asleep quickly. Sid and I decided to enjoy the beachfront restaurant. It was peaceful. The soft breeze, grilled seafood, and the calm of the sea made it a night to remember. For the first time in a long time, we felt light… happy. Like the sea had washed away some of our stress.
The next morning, Sid and I woke up early to watch the sunrise. The beach was quiet, the sea gentle. It’s still fresh in my memory.
After breakfast, it was time to check out. We wanted to stay longer but didn’t. We took lots of photos — but the real memories were the ones we carried in our hearts.
It was one of the few trips we took with Adi. And it was beautiful.
